Maryland Track Coach Sexually Assaulted Former Athlete, Maybe More Victims: Police

A Silver Spring High School track coach has been arrested on charges of felony sexual assault and molestation against a former student, according to police.

Giovanni Di Angelo Reumante, 31, of Takoma Park is accused of sexually assaulting a former female student at Northwood High School who is now an adult, said the Montgomery County Police Department.

The Special Victims Investigation Division began an investigation into the sexual assault on Oct. 27, police say the assaults took place against the victim while she was still a student, after school hours.  

Reumante had been a track coach at Northwood High School since 2013, he is also a security assistant, and investigators fear there may be additional victims.

He was arrested on Dec. 29 at Washington Dulles International Airport, while returning to the United States from the Dominican Republic and has been placed on administrative leave from the school.
